Job description

The Business Development Manager is a "business accelerator" in every way. With the solutions you offer, you enable customers to increase their revenue, create more efficiency, improve the visitor experience, and recognize and capitalize on sustainable business opportunities through data insights. You are an experienced and strong conversation partner for current clients, but above all, a networker, prospector, consultant, and proactive seeker of new market opportunities in the area of access solutions for people and vehicles. You will utilize all your communication and sales skills to be successful, with plenty of room for ownership and responsibility.

You don't shy away from (complex) technical projects; instead, you see them as an opportunity to introduce the latest applications and go the extra mile to completely unburden the customer, giving them a competitive edge for the future. The sales team consists of 3 account managers and 3 sales support colleagues who assist you in achieving the best results for SKIDATA and its clients.

After a thorough onboarding period, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Developing and maintaining contacts with clients and prospects to establish long-term relationships
  • Acting as the main and first point of contact for clients, even in the aftersales process
  • Proactively assessing and identifying customer needs and translating them into successful opportunities through tools like TCO calculations to ensure the customer selects the right solution
  • Managing the entire sales process: conducting market research and analysis, drafting sales plans, conducting acquisition and sales conversations, giving presentations, negotiating, and ultimately closing deals
  • Ensuring proper follow-up on customer agreements, thorough documentation in relevant systems, and good internal communication
  • Proactively keeping track of market trends and developments and responding commercially
  • Contributing to SKIDATA’s sales strategy and growth, further expanding its market position and brand awareness
  • Participating in (inter)national trade fairs and welcoming clients to Barendrecht to see the solutions in action
  • Reporting to the Sales Director

  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO) or equivalent work and thinking level, preferably with a commercial/technical background
  • Proven sales (hunter) experience with a track record
  • Affinity with digital solutions/software sales
  • Experience in initiating, creating, and leading technical (complex) sales projects
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English
  • Energetic, pragmatic, and focused on collaboration
  • Sharp, driven, solution-oriented, and ambitious to succeed
  • Able to communicate effectively at various levels, proactive, entrepreneurial, independent, and accurate
