Job description
As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee daily operations and define the long-term strategy. Your work will revolve around optimization, growth, and development. You are responsible for ensuring your team thrives in a dynamic environment and act as the vital link between your department and various internal and external stakeholders.The mature team of 14 Project Engineers possesses extensive knowledge and experience. With your skills, you’ll be both a technical and organizational sparring partner. You will continuously exchange knowledge to meet customer needs and market demands.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing, coaching, and leading the department (14 FTEs in Beusichem and 8 FTEs in India)
- Achieving both day-to-day operational and long-term strategic objectives
- Planning projects, maintaining oversight, and ensuring the right people complete the right tasks at the right time
- Representing the team and acting as a link between departments, ensuring strong collaboration
- Creating an environment where creativity, reliability, and quality are standard, and individuals are empowered to excel
- Motivating the team to meet agreed goals, tasks, and timelines
- Driving improvements to future-proof the department and the organization
- Developing KPIs and strategies to ensure ongoing success
- Constantly developing the people, team, and department
Background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business-related field
- At least 7 years of experience in a similar role within manufacturing, including international projects
- Creative and critical thinking to deliver the best solutions for the organization
- A connector who builds trust, fosters a positive environment, and communicates effectively
- Empathetic, analytical, alert, assertive, and able to switch quickly between tasks
- A “lead by example” approach: decisive, proactive, clear, yet collaborative
- Excellent time management across multiple projects, team leadership, and managerial duties
- Strong sense of ownership, drive, and results-oriented mindset
- A desire and ambition to grow personally and professionally
- Willingness to travel occasionally (max. 10%)
- Fluent in Dutch and at least proficient in English
