Job description

As Manager Operations (MT), you will have ultimate responsibility for streamlining and optimizing internal processes. This includes project management, procurement, logistics, warehousing, production, and work preparation. You will work closely and interact frequently with the Technical Director to coordinate technical developments. Your goal is to ensure that sold projects are successfully completed within the set time, budget, and required specifications and quality. Additionally, you will manage project leaders who are responsible for the delivery of projects from start to finish. The Procurement department also reports to you, and based on their input, you will make strategic decisions.

Your main responsibilities can be divided into three key categories:
  1. Leading the operational process: Monitoring project execution, proactively adjusting, continuously improving, coaching, and anticipating changes.
  2. Growing and scaling the organization: Setting up robust processes, professionalizing operations, identifying opportunities & challenges, and reducing lead times.
  3. Managing approximately 15 direct reports: Coaching your team, developing both individuals and the collective with care and attention.
Your responsibilities include, among others:
  • Setting up and optimizing internal processes, with a focus on project management
  • Reducing lead times by implementing efficient and effective (project management) processes, including good risk and resource management
  • Actively guiding the project leaders (12) and buyers (2) to ensure that projects are delivered successfully, within budget, and with satisfied clients
  • Ensuring your teams continue to develop and grow by motivating and inspiring them
  • Bringing structure and setting up work processes for a consistent and harmonized approach to projects
  • Continuously being ‘in control’ and proactively addressing organizational opportunities and challenges
  • Bearing ultimate responsibility for all operational departments and continuously improving their processes
  • Facilitating close collaboration within the supply chain and with other departments, such as Finance regarding billing and Sales regarding order quality and lead times
