Job description

As an Area Export Manager, you are the driving force in your region. You have a strong commercial sense and know when an extra effort is needed. You are ultimately responsible for proactively managing and overseeing local distributors, ensuring they are fully informed of all relevant information and knowledge so they can act as full-fledged partners of SEALPAC. If necessary, you accompany them to end customers to close deals and demonstrate the Unique Selling Points (USPs) of SEALPAC machines by setting a good example.

You are naturally positive-minded and seek solutions and creative ways to achieve your goals. If the result cannot be achieved one way, you know how to get it done another way. Due to the nature of the product, you have a technical interest and curiosity about the operation of the machines, and you can convey this to a diverse audience.

Within SEALPAC, you have plenty of autonomy to work independently. You know when to consult, but also confidently make decisions that are best for SEALPAC and its partners. It is essential that you are regularly present in your region and know what needs to be done when you are traveling, ensuring that your trips are as successful and valuable as possible. The export team consists of five colleague Area Export Managers supported by an internal sales team and a group of Sales Support Engineers.

To be successful, you will perform tasks including:
  • Responsible for developing and achieving annual sales and business plans
  • Managing and supervising local distributors
  • Conducting evaluations focused on content and performance
  • Identifying local market opportunities and action points
  • Initiating structural growth in collaboration with distributors
  • Acting as a liaison between the customer world and the internal organization in sales, marketing, and service
  • Actively managing quotes and ongoing projects, both internally and externally
  • Visiting distributors, trade shows, end customers, and SEALPAC factories internationally
  • Conducting commercial-technical presentations and training for an international audience

Background

  • Bachelor's level education or equivalent work experience
  • Travel and work experience in an international environment
  • Experience in managing agents and/or distributors
  • Familiarity with project-based sales within a B2B environment
  • Knowledge of the packaging and/or food industry is a plus
  • Curiosity is inherent in your nature; you genuinely want to know how things work
  • Strong communicator; focused on persuading, motivating, and influencing
  • Excellent command of English, good command of German
  • Proficiency in an additional modern foreign language is a plus
  • Willingness to travel internationally for up to 35% of working time
